I believe Tom's retort to my dissin' was "that was during my Fauve period".

 

To give Jay, (and whomever else has been utterly confused by this thread) just one more belly laugh,  fauve roughly translates to critter in French.  It was a pejorative label given to a group of artists (Matisse, et. al.) by an art critic who stated that their work "looked like something animals had done".

Not hardly... that's as clever a bit of repartee as you'll ever see.
